Peter Shelly is an entertainer with a unique style, AKA the 'Man with many Voices' by many people. Because Peter started doing impressions of Elvis, Roy Orbison, Rod Stewart, Patsy Cline, Natalie Cole, Alan Jackson, Toby keith and more he earned the title of 'The Great Pretender' which has been with him for several years.
His music consists of Rock, Country Rock, Motown, Latin and also show tunes with a vast repetoire of over 600 tunes onstage ready for the asking. Having the ability to read an audience has always been a big thing. There are no sets to follow (you'll never hear the same songs at the same time etc...which is usually par for a band as they only have 40 tunes or less to work with.) so different songs are played nightly and also he will read the audience and see what they are in to and the fun begins.
Being personable with the audience has also helped to gain a good following. Just knowing their favorite songs, etc and playing them during the night was a really good touch. The entertainer does not make the people, the people make the entertainer.
Peter has played in Nashville at The Nashville Palace and has worked bars, lounges and private banquets with many repeats.
If you are looking for an entertainer that can entertain most people of all ages, look no further...Peter Shelly is someone you should consider.
Just watching a live performance will have you smiling and even laughing at times.

Keep those comments coming, this Guestbook is working out better than I anticipated! It's not the entertainer that makes the people. It's the people that make the entertainer. Too many entertainers tend to forget that. Click HERE or click on the link on the right, thanks

Peter has a repetoire of 600+ songs (click HERE for a Sample Song List) which are fully orchestrated, ranging from classic rock, country rock, pop and also latin tunes, being able to read a crowd makes for a great night of entertainment for all ages. All that said, The Great Pretender sounds like an entire band, utilizing a digital harmonizer (adds harmony vocals to tunes) drums, bass, strings, horns, etc.
Vocal and physical impressions wearing different trademark wigs and head gear add to the visual part of the show. Artists that are portrayed by The Great Pretender are:
Willie Nelson, Rod Stewart, Elvis, Roy Orbison, John Lennon, Elton John, Patsy Cline, Natalie Cole and Alan Jackson, and of course, new ones are added as he gets more comfortable with the vocals.
